A compact, content-packed introduction to the Greater Caucasus. Fly in Friday, hike Saturday, fly home Sunday night. Two full trails, one mountain town at 1,700m, and a licensed guide handling all the logistics.

Day one takes you up to the 14th-century Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170m — three hours round trip through pine forest and alpine meadow, with views of Mt. Kazbek (5,047m). Day two is the Juta to Tina Lake trek at 2,550m, through green alpine paths toward the Chaukhi mountain system.

Perfect if you're combining Georgia with an Azerbaijan or Armenia trip, or just want a long weekend in the mountains.

Day 01Into Kazbegi

Tbilisi → Jinvali → Ananuri → Stepantsminda → Gergeti Hike

Depart Tbilisi along the Georgian Military Highway. Photo stops at Jinvali Reservoir (turquoise water under mountains) and 13th-century Ananuri Fortress. Arrive in Stepantsminda (1,700m). Afternoon hike to Gergeti Trinity Church — approximately 3 hours round trip.

Day 02Juta & Return

Stepantsminda → Juta → Tina Lake → Tbilisi / Airport

Morning drive to Juta village (2,150m), one of the highest villages in the Caucasus. Trek toward the Chaukhi mountain system and picnic at Tina Lake (2,550m). Return to your vehicle and drive directly back to Tbilisi or to the airport.
